The several views above show the front independent springing of the new Buick Series 40. Changes from the original design of the Buick independent front suspension are that the wishbone links are pivoted directly to the frame cross member instead of to a pressing secured to the frame; that the rubber bumper is located outside of instead of within the coil spring, and that the steering head, that is, the member joining the outer ends of the two wishbone links, is simplified
