Ph.III Pressure Plate. During a visit to Borg & Beck yesterday we showed them one of the distorted Ph.III pressure plates. They were of the opinion that the trouble was due to lack of stiffness. They considered that the plate should be at least 3/4" thick and should have stiffening ribs if possible. Regarding the need for a stress-releasing treatment after rough machining the pressure face, they pointed out that they never give their own plates such treatment. They are very critical of our finish. They strongly advise us to lap our flywheel and pressure plate surfaces. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Ll.Smith. | ||
