| To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X312 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.6/KW.23.12.35. Ph.III Clutches. As you know we have been having trouble from distortion of pressure plates after running. We considered that this might be due to the release of casting stresses, and have had a rough machined plate heated for 4 hours at 500°C. Will you please have this plate finished and put into a chassis at the first opportunity. We should first check the hardness so as to ensure that none has been lost during the stress releasing treatment. We are handing the plate to T. Fisher. We obtained the plate from No.4 Shop but did not book it out. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
