-4- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.19.9.36. It should be remembered that Sr. has driven his car to the limit. We still say that even from our own road tests the 4¼ litre should be no worse off than the 3½ litre. We have yet to receive a customer's complaint on Hall's alloy bearings, in spite of the fact that they are carrying a bigger load than we have ever asked white metal to sustain. We appreciate, however, that we have a great deal of development work to do to get the best out of the new bearing alloy. We have a range of material that can be forged to test out. Launching a new bearing material is a considerable undertaking, and we are bound to run into trouble before we get through with it. There is no short cut and at present we do not feel there is cause for excessive alarm. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
