Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FEB 28 1927 RECEIVED X4565 HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY11/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 28.2.27. LOW PRESSURE TYRES. Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/M.26.2.27. attached, I do not see how it is possible to make any intelligent reply to this in the absence of experiments, other than the obvious reply that the mass of the wheels is so seriously increased, the ratio of the back axle is considerably handicapped by the increase in diameter, and the general performance of the car must be distinctly worse. If you are in agreement that a reply of this nature should stand, I will take the matter up with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Failing this, it is unquestionably necessary to put a set of tests in hand. The point at issue is, would the number of chassis to which this could be applied, which represents a fairly good number, justify doing some definite experimental work before committing ourselves to any remarks at all.
