X1110 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth10/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 5th November, 1936. Messrs. Borg & Beck Company Ltd., Tachbrook Road, LEAMINGTON SPA. For the attention of MR. H.T. Barker. Dear Sirs, We acknowledge with thanks your letter of the 4th instant. We are glad to note that the two 10.A.6. clutches which you are modifying for us are well in hand. In connection with these we trust that you are taking every precaution to ensure that the finger setting is accurate, as we shall consider the merits of the ventilated type clutch largely on the performance of these two. We confirm that we have tested the sample of S.82 steel submitted by you, and find it to be satisfactory and suitable for use as eyebolts. We are passing you an order for a special 10.A.6. clutch with a cross cushion centre plate with .045 cushioning, faced with moulded material, and with extra bearing area for the pressure plate lugs as discussed last Tuesday. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
