L. Swindell. 67080 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KT.31.12.32. SEMI EXPANDING CARBURETTER. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} wishes us to carry out an experiment on this carburetter drilling a hole from the floatchamber, above the level of the fuel, to the bore of the high speed jet passage. This should be tried out with the badly fitting high speed jet control spindle, to see if it overcomes the weakening off trouble. It may be that the balance hole from the intake to the floatchamber will have to be increased in order that the floatchamber depression can be maintained constant, in spite of this small leak.
