CONTAINING MELTING METALS OR SALTS.

Crucibles, troughs and ladles for testing purposes.-
All Metallurgists, especially Founders, know the serious troubles connected with the use of appliances or accessories made of cast-iron or steel for melting purposes. Under all circumstances, thanks to its resistance to high temperatures and to oxidation in a hot state, NICHROMIC reduces these troubles to a vast extent.

Crucibles and Troughs.- These receptacles, usually made of cast iron or steel, wear out rapidly, get holes in them, thus entailing a waste of both time and material which considerably increases the cost-price and detrimentally affects the production. NICHROMIC remedies these drawbacks. Moreover, its fire-resisting qualities enables thinner receptacles to be used than those generally employed. They may therefore be heated more rapidly with consequent saving of fuel and considerably increased output.

Spoons, Baskets, etc..... Spoons or ladles for taking samples for molten metals, baskets or draining-dishes enabling pieces to be heated in salt or metal baths, yield excellent results, inasmuch as these accessories wear out much less rapidly and do not get out of shape when quickly cooled. They give every satisfaction to their users; all foundries and workshops for thermal treatment, after once trying NICHROMIC, have given several repeat orders.

An utensil made of NICHROMIC lasts twenty to thirty times longer than one made of cast-steel.
