EAC. THROTTLE MOVEMENT. X8140

We have carried out a test with 1/5th. throttle opening. We find on the engine we are testing there is 78º movement on the lever from shut to full open position. The throttle was adjusted so that it was 15½º open from the shut position. The HP. obtained with this position of throttle was :-

R.P.M. HP. 15½º HP. Full throttle.
530 22.5 30.7
750 23.3 41.8
1000 22.9 53.3
1250 18.75

With the engine running light, no load, with the throttle in this position, the engine ran at 1800 r.p.m. We consider 1/5 opening should be sufficient but every degree makes an appreciable difference.
