(4) Engine & steering.

Column shake. Were your pieces for allowing the column to remain rigidly held and the frame to move ever made ?

If not we ought to make at once and test.

Have we got the optimum flexibility in the Bentley steering system.

Tests should be carried out on the lines of those made on Phantom III.

Order another k steering to go on the column removed from 3-D-IV.

(5) Oil Consumption.

(1) Urge 4 ring stopped a/25 piston which has been drawn so that we can get on test as soon as possible.

(2) Try 'L' rings as used on the Silver Ghost. [Handwritten: Oil Consumption figures]

(3) Try simplex rings. [Handwritten: query on the recent highly satisfactory figures]

(4) Co-operate with A.D. and see if we can leave the breather off on the a/25 in view of the fact that we have a breather on the filler cap.

(5) Re-consider the Chevrolet. Why cannot we approach their consumption on the Bentley with a solid skirt piston.

(6) Salt - blow running.

The effect of good compressions. The Graham Paige induction pipe. The Chevrolet induction pipe.

[Handwritten]
