For the attention of Mr. Hives.

Dear Sirs,

In May last our attention was drawn to certain tyres which have been running in France, and which had burst at comparatively short mileages.

We were sufficiently interested to ask you to be good enough to arrange for the tyres to be returned.

In due course we heard from Mr. E.G. Croydon in France, under date May 27th, as per copy attached, and subsequently the tyres came to hand. We have examined them, and find that there is nothing at all abnormal about them. They have been very severely handled, and practically pulled to pieces. A glance at them would show you that in similar circumstances no tyres could be expected to stand up.

We think you would be interested in seeing these tyres personally. We are, therefore, arranging to have them sent on to you for your own examination, and when they come to hand, if you could let us have your comments, we would appreciate it very much.

Yours faithfully,
For THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO. LTD.
W. Bond
Technical Advisory Manager.
