contd :- -5- but as we have got to economise, we ought certainly to cut out the most wasteful part of the testing and we consider that if notice was taken of the Experimental Department's recommendations as regards 10,000 miles tests, a considerable amount of money will continue to be saved. When the 10,000 miles test was originally instituted, facilities for conducting tests at the Works were very limited. Since that time we have laboriously built up the means of reproducing road conditions in an intensified form in the Expl: Shop. We have also engaged highly qualified assistants and we maintain that we can now anticipate very closely what is going to happen from the tests we make at Derby. We should like to discuss this matter with you when you are at Derby tomorrow. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
