FRONT DUMB IRON . J.1.

X. 7380.
X. 4522.

This is to confirm having despatched to you last night N. scn. 3277. - the front dumb iron provided with a pad for bumpers.

The height above the ground according to the latest 'T' series coachbuilding drawing is within the standard distance of 17", though the tendency is to be low.

We have reduced the dimensions of the pad by comparison with the 40/50. for obvious reasons, but we understand the width given is a standard bumper width. Would Derby please obtain a specimen bumper suitable for this pad for the purposes of information.

We have taken the opportunity of modifying the dimensions of the dumb iron which would apply to the dumb iron without bumper pad shewn on N. sch. 3274.
