C.A.V. REGULATORS FOR BENSPORT,

CHASSIS.

We have now received one of the new regulators type B2J1 having three series turns instead of the 3 1/2 on the B2H1 type.

We find this regulator however to operate still at too high an apereage at 13 volts. IF we fitted this regulator we should anticipate trouble with our dynamos due to overheating on prolonged night runs at fairly high speeds using big head lamp bulbs.

We think it a safe policy therefore until such times as we have improved the high speed performance of our dynamos, to continue on production with the B2H1 type of regulator, this will give us absolute safety against overheating, and although not giving us the absolute maximum output the dynamo is capable of delivering at slow speeds, will make the system more reliable.

We recommend therefore that we go ahead with the B2H1 regulator until further notice.
