| To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} 600 RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}7/JH.10.7.37. 26-8-41. Will you please have the following work carried out on the above car :- (1) Steering too stiff - mods. to be done to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}'s instructions. (front ball joint of SS{S. Smith} tube excessively stiff) (2) Fit 65 durometer hardness rubbers to front engine mounting and torque rubbers. Supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} (3) Fit new headlamps supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. (4) Wind tone horn regulator wants changing. (5) Drill and peg wing bracket to radiator. (6) Drill and split pin lamp bracket bolts thro' wings. (7) Change speedometer, fit correct one to be supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. (8) Balance propellor shaft period 38-40 m.p.h. (9) Gearbox lever comes out of top, for instructions see Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} (10) GB. plate to be fitted with tail lamp attached. (11) Fit fan off 25-G-VI new bracket supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. (12) Oil and water temperature gauges to be fitted up for France, supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. (13) Nickell plated front of exhaust system as previously instructed. (14) New fully heat treated brake drums to be fitted - should be ready. (15) Fit new bell cranks OR.911/2 machined from solid. (16) Fit new front equalizer plate lever to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}403, since official details R.Sch.5143 have not come through. (17) Shock dampers - front damper units to be handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Bell for test. | ||
