Re chassis 66-NK. Chassis complete delivered 15.11.23.
-------------------------------------------------

The travelling Inspector who recently inspected this chassis reports that owner is experiencing trouble with the Peto & Radford battery on this chassis; the insulation is cracked round two or three of the terminals.

Upon taking this matter up with Messrs.Peto & Radford they write as follows and we should be pleased to have your advice as to whether you think it a reasonable thing to ask a customer to do with a charged battery.

"We have your letter of the 12th inst. regarding the 12-volt battery fitted to the above car and the trouble that is being experienced is quite a minor detail. The sealing of these batteries is subjected to all sorts of varying temperatures and at this time of the year it gets slightly brittle and cracks, this however can be remedied by the application of a light flame over the sealing firstly cleaning the top of the battery and taking out the vent plugs, the cracks will then automatically seal up and give the battery quite a nice new appearance. It is certainly not worth the carriage in returning this battery to us to have this done."
