With regard to instructions for production re clutch pedal shaft link, we have now tested link to N.Sch.4119, and find it quite as good as link to N.Sch. 4181 when the front diagonal stay on the pedal shaft is removed. This scheme of course leaves the engine with no location fore and aft other than the pedal shaft bolts, and until we have run a car say 10,000 miles, the engine should be located by fitting the offside front engine link from the crankcase to the 5th Cross member. Fitting only the offside link has very little effect upon engine smoothness. As soon as present stocks of links to N.Sch.4119 are used up we should like N.Sch.4181 fitting in its place, it is smaller, lighter and just as efficient. Instructions for production are therefore :- Fit clutch pedal shaft link to N.Sch.4119. Delete clutch pedal shaft front diagonal stay. Fit offside front engine link to LEC.3912 with hardened pins.
