X4056 Laminated Rear Springs for Chassis. X2628L

Jonas Woodhead & Sons Ltd. have reported that the position as regards material for the manufacture of these springs is as follows:-

(a) All steel for main plates for up to 2,000 chassis is cut to length.

(b) All steel for the leaves for up to 2,000 chassis is rolled ready for cutting up.

They do not anticipate having much surplus stock after the springs for the first 2,000 chassis are completed; therefore should we desire to employ thinner plates for chassis 2,001 onwards, this could be arranged, provided particulars are furnished at a comparatively early date, but of course the price would be increased.

In order to satisfy myself that everything is going well at Jonas Woodhead & Sons' Works, I purpose calling upon them next Friday, 11th inst.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}
