Dear Sirs,
In thanking you for your letter of the 19th instant we would confirm our telephone conversation this morning when we explained that we have no mould for the 6.50-17 x.1 equipment which is the size we understand you wish to use on this test. Those few with which we supplied you in the early days were made up by hand.
We feel that for the purpose of comparable data it would be advisable to use representative production tyres which have been manufactured either for the Phantom 111 (7.00-18) or the 25/30-HP (6.00-19).
If, however, you consider either of these sizes cannot conveniently be accommodated, it was suggested that possibly you might have some hand modified tyres - 6.50-17 - in your possession, which under the circumstances could be used for test.
We thank you for your advice that you are giving this matter your consideration and will communicate your wishes to us later.
Yours faithfully,
FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO. LTD.
