HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} To Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Er. Whr.{Mr Wheeler} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Continental Phantom. Referring to our discussion about letting you have a car in order to deal with certain prospects, if we wait for you to have an "O" Series car in the ordinary way I am afraid it means about three months. You will remember I suggested that we should let you have 19-EX which Sr. tried when at Derby. I have been into this matter fully with Derby. I am using it at the present time but shall have finished with it at the end of this week. The Experimental Dept. are quite agreeable that you should have it but it will have to go back to Derby first for a few experimental features to be removed. This means that we shall be drawing very near to the Christmas date which I imagine would not be suitable and I, therefore, propose to arrange for it to be sent over to you during the first few days of January. Please say what date would suit you best as I know that the New Year is the counterpart of Christmas in this country. You will remember I told you that this chassis has got a main silent second and semi-easy change. It is most important that this feature should not be disclosed to anybody. Should anybody comment on the silence of the second gear you must say that it is just chance that it is so quiet and that you only wish they were all like it, or words to that effect. I understood you to say that you would require to keep the car about 14 days. Please let me know if this is correct. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
