Mr Evernden c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. RHQ c. Mr Olley x259 F.Dood. BY/Cgh.{W Clough}3/C.27.5.36. WRAITH 11 - ROAD WHEELS AND TYRES. With reference to E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/MM.19.5.36. and print of N.Sch.4809 showing two proposals for the above, it will not be much use putting the matter up to the Dunlop Co. as they will certainly expect that RR. should decide which scheme we require. Phantom 111 spoking is considered to be the best, owing to the fact that all the spokes are fitted into the well of the rim. When the outer row of spokes are fitted to the outer edge of the rims as in the case of the road wheels for previous RR. and Bentley chassis, there is a tendency for the rims to split circumferentially in the corner of the well. We would also suggest that the inner inclined wall of the well is arranged as indicated on the attached print of the above scheme. OHG BY/Cgh.{W Clough} | ||
