602 FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} COPY [redacted] c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [redacted] GBX [crossed out] EY.18/G/22.6.38. HK{Col. T. Harker - Sales}* WRAITH CHASSIS - REAR AXLE TUBES. Will you kindly note that the first 300 Wraith cars to be produced will be fitted with 3½% nickel steel axle tubes. It is of the utmost importance that we should get in a sufficient mileage on the .4 carbon steel to demonstrate its reliability, and there is no prospect of this being done short of the time required for 300 cars on production. It is important that the order should be placed for these without further delay. The D.O. instruction was issued on the 3rd June, and should have been acted upon. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
