X7410 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.7/KW. 31st August, 1934. F.C. Burgess Esq., Llanfoist, Clifton Down, BRISTOL. Dear Mr. Burgess, Thank you for your letter dated the 13th inst. I am sorry that a fortnight's holiday has prevented me from replying until now. I am, however, still further distressed to hear your car is not giving satisfaction. There has been no news from your chauffeur, Farrow, as to what you would like us to do to your car. The speeds at which you travel over very indifferent road surfaces really require a type of body where the rear seats are very much further forward, in order to give the comfort your require. The luggage space should of course be behind the rear seats for preference. A well damped, solid Latex cushion would probably be an advantage in your case. If you like to send the car back to Derby our Repair Department will do their utmost to help you. Perhaps you would like to suggest stiffer or weaker road springs. For the cushion, however, the car will need to go to London. Yours truly, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
