X.3066 Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}4/W23.3.20. To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} c. to Hsv. c. to Ck.{Mr Clark} X.3066 Re Notices as to Standardisation Sheets. I send you herewith CJ13/E17320 which I expect you would like to reply to. My understanding of the procedure in connection with repair work is that Capt. Hallam and all concerned are extremely careful to observe the ordinary rules of standardisation of new parts before adopting them as standard on repair cars. This does not apply to special cases, for example the Harmsworth modifications, and all sorts of little special jobs which are required in particular and isolated cases. The Harmsworth case is one by itself, which I presume will have to be ratified in some special manner when the occasion arises. Generally speaking the Repair Dept. is of course fairly self-contained except for the close personal liason which is kept up between Captain Hallam and Mr. Hives. This appears to be a practical scheme which I believe works well. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} RECEIVED MAR 23 1920 | ||
