Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge with thanks your letter of the 11th inst., together with Blue Prints Nos. Ex.15816 and GB/538 (Sheet 1) enclosed therewith illustrating manner in which our 10.A1-G clutch has been modified by your goodselves andalso arrangement of your standard Bentley clutch, respectively. We are pleased to receive your agreement that we may alter the clutch drive shaft andalso the position of the pilot bearing housed in the flywheel. We have noted your remarks to the effect that you do not wish to make any modification to the clutch bellhousing. However, we note that you mention that you do not wish us to alter the clutch throwout bearing, and presume that you mean the position of same in relation to your throwout fork, and should this be the case we will endeavour to retain the same position but would prefer to see some other form of release bearing incorporated, preferably of the journal type. In order to enable us to get further ahead with the proposed layout it will be of considerable assistance if you could send us Detail Drawings of your clutch drive shaft, release bearing housing, and also operating yoke, also we would like to receive Drawing GB/538 (Sheet 2) illustrating arrangement of operating mechanism.
