material .375" thick, Hand and Foot brakes.
It is not proposed to use the A.M.R.2 material, as bad squeaks developed. We find it has no advantages over Ferodo at the present moment. The condition of the brake drum surfaces were very good, practically no wear could be detected. The lubrication of the toggle shafts had been ample. Water enters the drums during the washing process which causes the drums to slightly rust up whilst standing, which is the cause of the brakes squeaking upon the first application.

FRONT AXLE & BRAKES to LOP G.54576 - G.L.375.

Incorporating :-

(1) Thicker Brake Shoes G.54145 A.M.R.2 .375" thick
(2) G.54160 Brake Drum Damping spring fitted on drum.
(3) N.S.3141 Centralised Lubrication including non-return valve and Filter to Arrgt G.54299.

The lubrication of the brake toggle shafts, brake actuating shafts on axle, pivots and pins was very good, no improvements could be made. We have criticised the coiled tube at the rear of the N.S. front spring as there were definite signs of its failing with continued mileage. The dia. of the coil was too large causing wear to take place on the outer dia. The square bends were a poor job and the outlet had almost rubbed through. These faults have been pointed out to the D.O. and modifications have been made. The brake gear was in good condition slight squeaks developed. It is not proposed to use the A.M.R.2 material. The brake drum surfaces were in good condition. Water enters the drums similar to the rear when washed causing the drum braking surface to rust whilst standing.

FRONT SHOCK DAMPERS to LOP F.55944.

(1) F.57380 Intermediate Lever ((S/2WL.) replaces F.56357 (S/N))
(2) Scheme 1269 (Fig. 2) Spring Loaded Connecting Link.
(3) Hole in H.P. Valve deleted.
(4) Air Vent Ball Lift restricted to .010"
Loads set :- Low Pressure 60 lbs.
High Pressure 75 lbs.

The front shock dampers have been free from knocks throughout the mileage, very little oil has been lost. At 6,000
