| Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 262 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.25.10.37. Attached is a copy of a letter which I propose sending to E.R. Hall, unless you consider that we should make him buy a completely new engine for his boat. He is determined to have a Rolls-Royce engine, and we shall certainly make more money out of the deal in this way than if we sold him a new unit. Also I think he will give us less trouble. He is now wildly enthusiastic about motor boating, and as far as I am concerned, I would much prefer that he took up this pastime than motor racing. He talks about establishing a definite type of boat suitable for a Rolls-Royce engine, for which he says there will be a demand. I pointed out that our interest in this at the moment was absolutely zero, as we had got more than we could manage to make motor-cars properly. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
