To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from BJ. Copies to SY. and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Handwritten: to within what limits ?? -2- ?? "are not out of truth, and W. should please "arrange for this before cars are delivered to "S. in future." BJ21/H6.10.25. concerning the Instruction Book, said: "In view of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}2/196.10.25, addressed to R.{Sir Henry Royce}, "concerning out of truth tyres, we hardly know "how to word this. Will you kindly suggest "how it should be incorporated? "I do not think R.{Sir Henry Royce} had seen the memo. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} "when he suggested this. Possibly, if it is a "question which requires further discussion, it "might be omitted from the instructions at the "moment, and something posted in later, if "necessary." We do not know to what extent it is necessary to uncertain whether tyres are out of truth, and as we have heard nothing from W.H. in connection with the above, since we received JA1/22.9.25, we are looking to p. to follow out the instructions given in paragraph 3 of that memorandum, so far as supplying tyres to the customer which are "reasonably true" are concerned, and we are looking to SY. to include in the Instruction Book such wording as will cover the rest of that paragraph 3, namely, that "a customer should be instructed not to use a tyre which is badly out of truth". B.J. Handwritten (right margin): We have not heard anything from W.H. on this since he wrote 22.9.25 Oh Dear Lord customer finally gets Oh Gosh! Held! Held! Well! Well!
