Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 14th instant and would inform you that our price for a wheel built with an aluminium alloy rim in the size we presume you would require would be approximately £5. 0. 0. Where quantities of 40 or 50 wheels are in question we are prepared to consider manufacturing the rims ourselves, but for one or two sets of wheels we are able to quote you a rather better price by buying from Italy, despite the heavy ad valorem duty. We await your further comments on this matter.

With regard to the new type locknuts, these are in hand but no wheels are being made since the new locknut fits your existing design of wheel. When putting these locknuts on test however, we would point out the necessity of fitting them either to new wheels or to wheels that are not scored on the outer cone since if the outer cone is scored then the bronze inserts will eventually become scored.

Yours faithfully,

For RUDGE-WHITWORTH LTD.
