E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/AD24.10.32. HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTRIC HORNS MOUNTED UNDER THE APRON TO D.SCH. 584. We have now had an opportunity of testing this arrangement of duel high frequency horns on 40/50 chassis 19-EX. The result was extremely unsatisfactory, the sounding of the horns causing considerable vibration and giving a very raucous low pitched note. The same type of horn mounted under the head lamp pillars gives an entirely different effect, the sound being very pronounced as on chassis 19-CIV. We do not recommend, therefore, the adoption of this method of mounting these horns. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
