RE: USE OF TWO HIGH FREQUENCY HORNS DE-TUNED BY ABOUT HALF A TONE, AND FIXING SAME UNDER THE APRON. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/AD.24.10.32. Mr. Davis reported this matter to me, and we at once wrote Sales pointing out that the scheme of using two horns slightly de-tuned as above was valueless unless the horn was mounted on the lamp brackets i.e. a rigid support, with the supports well separated from one another. Our standard horn arrangement is, of course, one horn carried on a light cross member under the apron. The above proposal was put forward for special high speed cars, because of its road clearing qualities. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
