Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. West.

We have your letter of the 20th January in regard to the failure of the High Frequency 48 watt Bulbs fitted to the special experimental Bentley Headlamps.

We should be very glad of some further details of this trouble and the knowledge of the approximate number of hours burned and whether they failed together or separately, would be very helpful. As you are aware, these Bulbs are still in the experimental stage and we are watching the rating very carefully. Actually, we have had four pairs on Works Cars for the last three or four weeks without failure and you may rest assured that we shall keep a very careful watch on the first production batch we receive from the makers. The Bulbs you had were got through very rapidly and this may be the reason for their early failure.

We are sending you under separate cover, a further half dozen Bulbs from a more recent delivery and it will be very helpful if you could put them on Works Cars and let us have your report.

We have no exact data yet on the probable life of these Bulbs in Service and while it is bound to be considerably less than that of the standard bulbs, we imagine they will
