86116. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/MA. 20th January, 1934. Messrs.Joseph Lucas Ltd., Great King Street, Birmingham, 19. For the attention of Mr.Neill. Dear Sir, With reference to the increased intensity 48 watt lamp bulbs which were fitted to the two special Experimental Bentley headlamps recently received from you, we regret to say that both of the lamp bulbs have failed the filaments giving out. We are very much disturbed by this result as we were assured by you that these lamp bulbs, although of a higher rating than the standard 48 watt lamp bulbs, would last at least a lighting season. Of course this may be a freak result but we would like you to send us two replacement lamps as quickly as possible, in fact it would be better if we had half a dozen of these lamps in use on our Experimental Cars in order to gain further experience, upon which we will report you further. We shall be glad therefore if you will kindly let us have these lamp bulbs as quickly as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
