X123/ To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} HL1/AG.25.4.36. Laboratory. Report No.L4082. Re: Sample of "Castraulic" Brake Fluid ex Wakefield and Co. Distillation of the above sample yields 46%, by volume, of distillate boiling mainly at 78-79 °C. The distillate is soluble in water and has a specific gravity of 0.830. The characteristics of this material are similar to those of impure Ethyl Alcohol, i.e. Industrial Methylated Spirit. The residue from the distillation is pure Castor Oil. Allowing the usual 2% loss on the distillation, this material would appear to be a mixture of 48% Industrial Methylated Spirit and 52% Pure Castor Oil. Hl. HE | ||
