X.4604 MARMON & GOSHAWK 137 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. ENGINE MOUNTING. R2/M1 6.10.23. Referring to your report Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG13.10.23., there are probably two things making the difference between the Marmon and our Goshawk. One is the frame and springs, and the general support of the engine probably stiffer than our Goshawk, therefore putting the period up. This in combination with a smoothing out of the torque by the use of heavy pistons may account for the difference between this chassis and our own in this respect. There xxx may also be something in the compression ratio. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
