1166 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 6th. April, 1939. Messrs. Smith's Jacking Systems Ltd., Edgware Road, Cricklewood, LONDON, N.W.2. For the attention of D.W.Sessions, Esq. Dear Sirs, We have just experienced a similar failure to the last one on another portable jack, namely that the pump refused to operate presumably due to dirt under the replenishing valve. Now that we have your drawing we see that the balls seat direct on to the zinc base, and we have been drawing a scheme with a hardened steel insert in the pump body. We should, therefore, like to know as soon as possible whether you would consider modifying the die for the pump body so as to get more room for the steel insert. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
