PHANTOM III STARTER MOTOR.

The recent cold starting tests we carried out on an experimental Phantom III chassis showed that the motor was turning the engine too slowly, i.e. only 30 R.P.M. at zero temperature. We should be glad therefore if early consideration could be given to the modified design of starter which we agreed together should be put in hand, i.e. altering the Teazer winding, increasing the diameter of the armature and providing a solenoid for pinion engagement. We cannot see any other way of improving the motor performance for a given size except in this manner.
