X4027 To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}3/KT.3.9.32. X4552 PEREGRINE & BENSPORT. Delivery of Bodies. We should be glad if you will let us know definitely when you require us to collect these bodies from the coachbuilders. Bensport Wheels. These have not yet been ordered, the drawings are not quite in the final stages, and it will therefore be some time before we can expect to have any wheels or hubs. For the coachbuilder's purposes we suggest that a Peregrine wheel and dummy hub will suffice. The wheel dimensions are almost exactly the same, the only difference being in the hub and retaining nut. If the coachbuilders make their bodies suitable for a Peregrine dummy hub and spare wheel, it should be possible to change over to Bensport immediately they are available. Peregrine Dummy Hubs. These are on order from Dunlops, but will not be available for quite three weeks. As this date will be rather late we are making up a mock dummy hub in wood which we think will enable the coachbuilders to do their work. Peregrine Wheels. We have no spare Peregrine wheels at the present; we are promised a further batch in a week's time; immediately they arrive we will send one off to Park Wards together with the wooden dummy hub. Tools for Peregrine. This question has not yet been gone into in detail. The largest tools, which we think should be accommodated under the bonnet will be - Jack and handle. Wheel spanner. Wheel mallet. Starting handle. Tyre pump. The remaining tools we do not anticipate will be of any great size either in number or bulk, and will not need any large space allotted for them in the body. With regard to the type of jack to be used, we think the present Dunlop jack as used on P.II. and the 20/25 HP. is over big for the job, and we are looking round for something more suitable. | ||
