To GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/WJ.24.3.30.

We thank you for your recent reports.

The reason why we have not treated the centre point lubrication on the side steering tube in the same manner as we have on the cross steering tube is because the side steering tube is not so heavily loaded and additionally the ball could leave one of the pads which would mean that the pressure in the whole of the Bijur system would fall when this occurred.

The side steering tube ball ends relatively have an uneasy time as they have only about 100 lbs load whereas the cross steering tube ball has 700 to 800.

Please note that you told us you were running on Lodge plugs and now say that you are running on K.L.G's. We presume that your first statement was a mistake.

If you have an opportunity, we should like to know the maximum mean speed the car can do taken in two directions on the straight.

We note your remarks re the servo swinging arm and this will be attended to.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
