SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Front Suspension.

Herewith is N. Sch.4577 which shews a modification to the studding of the spring cylinder and main bearing housing, to simplify it by reducing the No. of studs, at the same time keeping the solid circular flange as shewn on N.Sch.4578.

There are also provided three retaining studs which keep the main bearing housing in position during the changing of springs.

The principle studs are increased to .312, and this drawing is intended to be used in conjunction with N.Sch.4591 which shews the additional bosses for the retaining studs. It is applicable to both the autoloc shock damper scheme and the unit construction damper scheme now in progress. It is intended to supersede N.Sch's 4573/4 on production.

A modification is also contemplated to the brackets which retain the rubber buffers and this will follow immediately. It will be seen that the sleeves through the frame and the aluminium distance piece, are not modified except for the increased size of stud holes and the additional 3 - .250 retaining stud holes.
