20-HP. NEW TYPE SHUTTER CONTROL MECHANISM.

The above, I am afraid, is likely to give trouble in service.

The tap maintains its closed position by friction set up in the mechanism, and this friction depends on the control rod being fixed correctly by the Coachbuilders.

It is important that this point should receive special stress on our Coachbuilders' drawing dealing with this type of chassis.

Is it not possible that the mechanism of this control can be reversed so that in case the friction fails the tap will remain closed, and not open itself as it does at present?

We want to get more EPC friction at 'A' to prevent Starter carb working open.
