COPY. S/W. D/Bp. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}19/M/17.5.27. Re: Sales stock of Tyres at Works. Referring to D/BP/HD{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}12/OG12.5.27. and D/EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/B. 14.5.27. we note you agree in principle that the Dunlop Triple Tread Tyres can be introduced on the 20 HP as soon as possible, as well as on the 40/50 HP. Re: Stocks. It is very unfortunate to see that the stock of 20 HP. Tyres is so much larger than the stock of 40/50 HP. especially bearing in mind the fact that the 40/50 HP. output is greater than the 20 HP. We presume we are morally responsible for absorbing the Dunlop stocks. Such being the case, we are of the opinion that Dunlop's had better be instructed to make up a further few hundred of the 40/50 HP. Traction Tread Tyres so that we can make changeover to Triple Stud on both models as simultaneously as is possible. We do not expect to be able to do so exactly but, at the same time, we do not like the idea of several weeks - or months' gap. We believe that Bentleys are now using Traction Tread Tyres for the same reasons as we have been doing. Do you think this accounts for Dunlop's small stock of 40/50 HP. Tyres (the size Bentleys would use) with large stock of the others? | ||
