Following the development work on B-3 we are now in a position to give an up-to-date specification for the complete assembly of B-21 unit. Cylinder Head. Ex.20943 head with the water passages internally cleaned up. Combustion chamber edges chamfered off, also the spark plug pockets. The inlet ports to be machined out to 1.625" dia. as carried out on 2nd head. Ex.20968 inlet valve 1.7 dia. (S/SLU). Ex.21586 exh. 1.55" (KE-965 stellited). Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}54 valve springs not enamelled. Corrujoint gasket supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} Induction System. Complete inlet manifold Ex.20937/8 incorporating the modification Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}118 with Ex.20969 balance washer. The branch pipes of the manifold to be bored out to 1.625. This necessitates 1.625 bore C. & A.{Mr Adams} washers and which we have ordered through the D.O. The carburetters will be supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}, and will require control modifications to suit existing standard controls. The carburetters to be left unenamelled. Strengthened Aerolite pistons with .003" oversize rings have been supplied to J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Warwick for fitting. | ||
