Anodic Treatment of R.R. Pistons.

We have run the pistons which you supplied to us having anodic treatment. Whilst they give indications of being satisfactory, the coating seems to be too thin as after about 10 hours running on the test bed it shows signs of having worn through in places.

We understand that you cannot increase the thickness of the coat with your present equipment. We should be glad to know if you could suggest any means whereby we can get some pistons which have been produced under your supervision with a thicker anodic skin, as from these preliminary results we think it is worth while proceeding further with the tests. The anodically treated pistons which we have received from the Light Production people have so far not proved successful.
