PHANTOM III - COMPLAINTS.
---------------------------

The following are the complaints during January and February:-

ENGINE. No.

(1) Intermittent knock, due to tappets being 2.1
tight in guides.

(2) Intermittent knock due to hydraulic 7.IIII
plungers sticking. /failure to start (handwritten)

(3) Over oiling due to cylinder head not draining, 12.II^II
sufficiently.

(4) Failure of engine to switch off. 1.

(5) Oil leaks from tappet covers and rocker cover. 4.IIII

(6) Intermittent failure of ignition etc. due 2.I mod (handwritten)
to fault in ammeter.

(7) Distributor contacts bakelite can loose. 2.

(8) Camshaft case scored, new camshafts fitted. 2.I
solid tappets (handwritten)

(9) Overheating of engine, old type matrix. 1.II

(10) Broken eccentric, noisy tappet. 1.

(11) Burst oil cooler, F.{Mr Friese} type fitted. 1/I^stand (handwritten)

(12) Stud holding tappet bloc, stripped thread. 1.
Oil level indicator. 1.

(13) Connecting rod bearings. 1.

(14) Distributor Lows & contact pins too light. 1.
1 control coil required fusebox support. (handwritten)

(15) Failing of 1 plug dismissed due to head(19) Seized 1. 1.
16 cylinder head gasket joints blown 11 (handwritten)
