Rear Hub - incorporating N.Sch.4636

Hoffmann bearing No.145 revolving in hub, also distance piece behind this bearing has been revolving, and burring the stop machined in the hub. This is an improvement on standard but is still unsatisfactory.

Rear Damper Connecting Tubes.

Lower cap nut badly damaged by stones, road conditions etc. Oil stand pipes have pulled out of the sweated joint from the lower ball pad, and both pipes are stiff in the top gland.
Near side stand pipe is clogged with sludge etc. and the top ball pad is very badly worn.
The lower ball pads are hammering against the cap nuts.

Rear Spring Pads.

The front exposed section of the ball pin has been subjected to sandblasting effect of road conditions etc.

Front Engine Suspension. Arr. FB.1574

Centre sockets FB.1571/2 S/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} cracked on the front cylindrical section the whole depth of rubber housing bore (See Ex.I.70)
Radiator support bracket FB.1575 fractured across the weakest section of starting handle bore (See Ex.I.72)

Wingstays

Front near side wing stay fractured immediately above level top of frame. This was fractured during the test and welded by testers prior to breaking 2nd. time.

Engine Guard

L.H. engine guard broken across front louvred section.
