X5370 To Mr BY from RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}, Or Mr Hes RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}6/BE. 9.12.25. RE INDIA SERVOS The Bushes G.52131 for Servo Pressure Plate dowels were found on an Experimental Car to be broken. (In one case the Bush had disappeared entirely). The section of these bushes is .031. Being a press fit it would appear that they have been cracked when pressed in and broken away in service. We have suggested to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that section should be increased to .062 which alters the diameter of the Bush from .437 to .500. There is ample metal round the boss on G.52147 Pressure Plate to allow for increased diameter, but section adjacent to dowel hole on spigot diameter for servo disc which is already thin will be further reduced. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} would like this alteration carried out immediately. He also recommends that Servos which are not built up should have this modification. Will you therefore kindly issue the necessary instructions. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} | ||
