(12). We believe that this car has a rear wheel cover which is held on by a circular strap. If it were properly fitted it should work independant of the tyre. We prefer it to the scheme used on the first car as it is a standardised article and can be bought out ready made. We are aware that it would not take a tyre larger than the Fort Dunlop and we had already pointed this out to the makers, who are dealing with the matter. (13) We considerthat it is of great importance that we should be able to fit wheel discs to this car if and when the customer demands them even though we depricate their use ourselves. We are asking DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and By to look into the question of modifying the shape of the balance weights so as to leave room for the discs. Will you please tell us whether you still have these discs as we will have them altered for use on this or some other car. (14) We will look into the provision of such a bracket asthe one you mention at the frontbend of the scuttle. (15) The question of the mudlips of the rear wings being too large at the front end is being dealt with at the coachbuilders. We feel that most of these troubles result from the fact that the coachbuilder had never seen the chassis, and also that he has not the usual chance of going out in the car after the body has been mounted and correcting any of his minor faults before the car is delivered. | ||
