FRAME DISTORTION. X8380

Referring to your HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG301125., we are interested in this question of frame distortion.
There is we calculate an important distortion about the horizontal centerline of the chassis or thereabouts, namely, as though the two side members acted as levers twisting the cross members. We make it out that this distortion may be as much as 3 1/2° under certain circumstances, not allowing for any stiffness due to the body etc. This distortion is not apparent-ly the same as you refer to in your memo., judging by the sketch, but we think it would be very desirable to look for it, though we do not at the moment suggest any means by which you could do so.

Regarding the twisting of the side members themselves we are interested at the rear end of the front springs as affecting the steering.
