Attention Mr F.{Mr Friese} Ll Smith.
Re 13½" Driven Plates.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 26th inst, and now understand that you are agreeable to cutting of the horseshoe slots round the outer rivet holes on the 13½" Driven Plate, and that the inner row of rivets is being used to clinch both facings; this modification to be brought in as soon as possible for production purposes, without, at the same time, causing any hold up.

As requested in the second paragraph of your letter we are arranging to build up an experimental Driven Plate incorporating original design of rivetting, and we assume alternate arrangements of horse shoe slots, but the internal diameter of the friction facings to be reduced to 8¼", and to have an additional row of rivets, placed between each "T" slot.

This work is being put in hand immediately, and a request has been made to Messrs Ferodo to forward the necessary Facings.

We have noted your remarks in regard to 12" long type Plate and feel that before deciding on this size that it would be as well for careful tests to be carried out on a similar design 13½" Plate having seperate compound cushion segments, which we made up for you some little time ago.

Yours faithfully,
BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED.

H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} T. Barker.
